I know there are times I spend too much time on these habits, but I have found they help me to change my mind when thinking about a particular subject and call to

A 1,000-point scorer in the family

Echoes From the Loafers’ Club Meeting You’re not on Facebook.  No, I’m not on Twitter either.  What are you trying to hide?   Driving by the Bruces I had two wonderful neighbors — both named Bruce — who lived across the road from each other until Southside Bruce moved to South Carolina. Whenever I pass those two driveways, thoughts occur to me, such as: I called my young grandson Crosby a head of knuckle. He called me an apple-knocker. Apple-knocker is another term for country bumpkin,

State forests offer plenty of opportunity

After having just spent a few days up at the cabin enjoying some nice weather and the beautiful fall colors, I was already ready for more. There is something about being up north and on the water that gives me that certain feeling that I just can’t ever seem to get enough of. I don’t believe that I can think of anything better than coming into the cabin on a cold day and feeling the warmth of a wood stove. We
