Bath, Minn.: Gone but not forgotten

Echoes from the Loafers’ Club Meeting I’ve had a dream for years. What is it? To lose 10 pounds. Why don’t you do it? I couldn’t live without a dream.   Driving by Bruce's drive I have a wonderful neighbor named Bruce. Whenever I pass his driveway, thoughts occur to me, such as: We complain about the weather as if we don’t get winter each year. The answer was blowing in the wind. It was snow. Most of the things I was supposed to do had been postponed.

No sure-fire cure for cabin fever

I know the weather has been less than desirable for the last couple of weeks, unless you are a winter outdoors person. Before Christmas, I had begun to feel sorry for all snowmobilers. Now they have been blessed with enough snow to make the sport worthwhile. There have been plenty of ice fishermen in and around the dredge in the area where the aerators are located. The DNR will soon be or already have turned them on. There were permanent houses

Cars, trucks, ATV’s and snowmobiles have been falling through the ice all over the state. There have been reports of vehicles going

Some folks are competing all the time

When my kids were young, we’d play a lot of games. It might be a card game or a board game, but one thing remained consistent – I never let my kids win. If they earned the victory, good for them; otherwise, I never intentionally made a move that would hurt me just so they could have the satisfaction of beating their old man. Part of that is my philosophy of making sure they understand that life will not just hand
