The COVID-19 pandemic has affected many lives since it began in 2020. Audrea Horejsi, a local Ellendale resident, has decided to take her work life back after losing her job in March of 2020 by starting her own home-run business. Crafts and Creations was formed in the summer of 2021 with the intention of bringing art and creativity to the young minds of tomorrow.

Horejsi has a class, “Kids Just Wanna Have Fun,” which is currently being run through Community Ed in Waseca, Albert Lea, Wells, NRHEG, and Blooming Prairie. In January, classes will start up in Owatonna. Registrations and payments are done through community education in the given town.During the classes Horejsi plans to teach, children will be required to wear masks as they explore their young, creative minds. Horejsi is already taking steps to put together craft kits for kids who can’t attend classes but still want to do the crafts. All new information regarding Crafts and Creations will be posted on the Crafts and Creations Facebook page.
Prior to opening Crafts and Creations, Horejsi worked in many establishments. One such establishment was a previous home-run business called Custom Creations by Audrea. Custom Creations by Audrea focused on Horejsi’s custom designs of stationary and calendars, featuring photos taken by herself. Due to personal reasons, Horejsi shut down this business and went back into the workforce.
Horejsi has helped set up and run craft stations for Advent and Lent at St. Theodore's Catholic Church in Albert Lea when her two daughters, Rachel and Jordan, were still able to attend these events. From 2008 to 2010, Horejsi was an NRHEG Girl Scout Troop leader, where she planned projects, crafts, and helped the kids earn their badges. In 2012, Horejsi taught art classes through community education during the spring at various schools.
