Food shelf fundraiser Saturday

The Area Food Shelf of New Richland will holds its 4th Annual Spaghetti Supper fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Richland. Free will donations are encouraged as well as new, unwrapped toys for the Santa Anonymous program. All cash donations will go to the food shelf. A silent auction will include a basket with Panther clothing, a basket with homemade quilts from Trinity Lutheran and a Christmas basket with a set of plates.


Suicide Loss Day event Saturday at Bonnerup’s

A local International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day event will be held in Albert Lea on Saturday, November 22 at Bonnerup Funeral Services, 2210 E Main Street at 4:30 p.m. There is no charge for this event. After Prom fundraiser offers personalized pans

NRHEG After Prom is holding a fundraiser, “That’s My Pan!” Personalized cake pans and lids, including your choice of words and colors, will be available for purchase by contacting families of NRHEG junior and senior students, or ordering online at www.thatsmypan.biz/frmn10065. Sales end December 1. NRHEG After Prom is a non-profit organization. Band concert Monday, Tuesday

The NRHEG High School Marching Band will present its annual Indoor Band Concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24 and Tuesday, Nov. 25. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for students, preschool and under free. “The show this year is entitled 'Secret Agent Band' and is centered around some of the most well-known spies from TV and movies,” said NRHEG Band Director Sam Boerboom. “You'll also enjoy a wide variety of sights and sounds from several of our high school ensembles. Don't miss out on this spy-tacular show!”


Krause, Berg to perform Dec. 5, 6

New Richland natives Meghan Krause and Gavin Berg will perform a Christmas Concert at the Waseca Art Center at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 and 2 p.m. Dec. 6. Favorite holiday favorites will be performed as well as some special surprises. Krause will do vocals with Berg on the piano. This concert will be held in the Kent and Diane Schultz auditorium at the Waseca Art Center, which is on second floor (not handicapped accessible). All seats are reserved for both concerts. Call 507-835-1701 for tickets. Tickets can be mailed, or held in your name. Tickets are $17.


Tickets on sale for Christmas show

The sixth annual holiday gospel Christmas show “Christmas Time’s A Comin’” will be presented at the Waseca Central Building Auditorium in Waseca, MN on December 6 and 7. This is a Branson-style Christmas show for the entire family’s enjoyment. All proceeds go to the American Red Cross. Show times: Saturday, December 6, at 2 and 7 p.m.; Sunday December 7, at 2 p.m.  Advanced reserved tickets only, are available at the Waseca Music Store (507-835-2980).  Adults $10, youth (under 16) $5. Doors will open one hour before each concert and a pre event beverage comes with each ticket purchased.


Santa Anonymous Auction November 29

You can help a child in need receive a gift this year for the holiday season. Make a difference by making a cash donation, donating an auction item, donating a stocking stuffer, or by joining in the fun and attending the auction at The Boxcar Bar in Waseca on Saturday, November 29. The fun begins at 5 p.m. Donations accepted at the Boxcar Bar or the Waseca Area Neighborhood Service Center. Community support has made this program possible.


SCHS Christmas in the Village December 5, 6

The Steele County Historical Society announces its 2014 Christmas in the Village on Friday, December 5 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Village of Yesteryear, 1448 Austin Road in Owatonna and the History Center at 1700 Austin Road.
