Snow week royalty gathered together in the NRHEG high school gymnasium Tuesday afternoon, February 7 to find out who among them would be crowned King and Queen.

Dylan Ingvaldson and Grace Wilkenson were crowned 2023 Snow Week King and Queen by the NRHEG 2022 Homecoming King and Queen Makota Misgen and Eva Wayne.

The following introduction was read aloud introducing the queen and king:

Grace is the daughter of Matt and Kara Wilkenson. She has two sisters: Olivia and Danika. She enjoys golfing, skiing, wake-boarding, and hanging out with her friends. Grace participates in volleyball, sideline cheer, competitive cheer, and golf. She is good at doing the limbo, especially on roller blades, but she is not good at playing front row in volleyball. Her favorite food is fettuccine alfredo with broccoli from Olive Garden, but she doesn't like Tater Tot hot dish. Grace says her hero is Bailey Ihrke because she convinced her that she did in fact have a crush on Jaylin Raab. After high school, Grace plans to attend Rochester Community Technical College to major in Radiology.

Dylan is the son of Tait and Jen Ingvaldson. He has one sister, Brynna. His hobbies include driving around and hanging out with friends and family, and he is involved in basketball. Dylan is good at getting it done, but not good at basketball. His favorite food is chipotle, and his worst food is last year's (school) lunch. Dylan’s heroes are his parents because they gave birth to him. After high school, Dylan plans to work and save his money.

The rest of the 2023 snow week royalty were: Ethan Thompson, Evan Beckmann, Jed Pfundt, Lucas Hanna, Ashley Wobschall, Erin Jacobson, Katheryn Kofstad, Andrea Briggs, and Taya Lembke. The following introductions were shared for each student:

Erin is the daughter of Erik and Heidi Jacobson. She has two older siblings: a brother, Tyler, and a sister, Anna. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family and friends, whether it be side by siding, snowmobiling, spending days on the lake, going shopping, traveling different places with Hallie, or going on sushi dates with her best friend, Emma. She also enjoys helping her family on the farm and going on long walks with her dog, Remi, when the weather is nice. Erin is involved in volleyball, basketball, FCA, FFA, NHS, yearbook, student council, Luther league, and teaching Sunday School at her church. She is really good at sleeping, but not very good at waking up. She enjoys sushi and pickles (not together, of course), but she cannot stand chocolate milk. There is no such thing as a chocolate cow, therefore it doesn’t belong. Her hero is her brother, Tyler, since he is extremely hard working and has taught her a lot of great lessons. And let’s face it, who wouldn’t wanna be the golden child? After high school, Erin plans to attend South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD and major in Agronomy with a minor in Ag business.

Taya is the daughter of Tara Lembke and Jeff Lembke. She has two sisters, Kylie Lembke and Skylar Lembke. Her hobbies include hanging out with friends, watching movies, thrifting, and reading. Taya is good at procrastinating, but not very good at sports. Her favorite food is quesadillas, and she says baked beans are the grossest. After high school, Ashley plans on moving to Colorado with her boyfriend and furthering her education within a couple years.

Andy is the daughter of Garret Briggs and April Martin. She has three siblings, Alan, Tyler and Gavin. Her hobbies include the 3 s’s: skiing, skating, and sleeping, and she is involved in volleyball. After high school, Katheryn plans on moving to Boulder Colorado and taking a gap year.

Lucas is the son of John Hanna and Miriam Hanna. He has three brothers: Aaden, Zander and Preston. Lucas’ hobbies include sports, fishing, gaming and hanging out with friends. Ethan is involved in football, baseball, concert band, jazz band, honor band, yearbook, and student council. He is good at math, but not good at English. When it comes to food, Ethan says that chicken and rice is the best, but mushrooms are the worst. His hero is his brother Cole, because he showed him that you can overcome anything and you can achieve greatness. After high school, Ethan plans to go to the University of Minnesota for Computer Engineering.

Gavin is the son of Billie Jennings and Dan Wilkenson. He has one brother, Drew, and one sister, Hailey. His hobbies include farming and hanging out with family and friends. Gavin is involved in football and track. He is good at farming, but he’s not good at driving snowmobile. Gavin’s favorite food is steak, and celery is what he doesn’t like.
