‘Fun Nuns’ presentation June 24 in Ellendale

Join the “Fun Nuns,” Sister Michelle Meyers and Sister Kay O’Neil, for “Life is too short not to have a good time. Developing the Art of Affirmation.”

Accept, appreciate, and applaud the people with whom we live and work! How we think about others influences whether we appreciate or disparage them. As we focus on the positive qualities of others, we can learn to validate them. Practicing the art of affirmation makes a difference. We can make that difference with everyone.

Sisters Kay and Michelle have created and taught college, university, and seminary courses, retreats, in-service seminars, and workshops throughout the United States. Their primary interests are communication, self-esteem, assertiveness, peacemaking, and spirituality.

The Sisters live in LeSueur, Minn., and are members of the Presentation Sisters whose headquarters are in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Both are founding members of the Sisters’ Social Justice Team of which Sister Kay serves as chair. “Life is too short not to have a good time” is the theme that permeates the light-hearted and serious approach that Sisters Kay and Michelle offer to thousands of people who have shared their lives as they attempt to make a difference for goodness in “their corner of the vineyard” and try to support the efforts of others doing the same!

Sister Michelle Meyers holds an M.S. from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, an M.T.S. from Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, and graduate credits from Catholic University, Washington, D.C.

Sister Kay O’Neil has an M.A. from Dominican University, River Forest, Illinois, an M.A. from Catholic University, Washington, D.C., and an M.T.S. from Boston College School of Theology and Ministry, Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.

The free community event will be held Tuesday, June 24, 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church of Ellendale. A free-will donation will be accepted to cover the travel costs of the Sisters.

The event is sponsored by Moebius Education, specializing in program development and continuing education for health and human services. For more information visit www.moebiuseducation.com.
