LeSueur River Watershed meeting Monday in Waldorf

The LeSueur River Watershed Network is sponsoring a potluck followed by a meeting to discuss the future of the watershed group on Monday, March 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Waldorf Community Center in Waldorf. The public is invited to this free event to join the conversation about the newly forming LeSueur River watershed group and to share a meal with watershed neighbors.


Panther Preschool open house Tuesday

A preschool open house to register for the 2014-2015 school year will be held on Tuesday, March 25 in Ellendale and Thursday, March 27 in New Richland starting at 6 p.m. in the Preschool Rooms at both school sites. The registration fee will only be $20 if you attend one of these open houses. The registration fee will be $25 if you are registered by April 15 and you do not attend one of the open houses. After April 15, the registration fee will be $35.


Albert Lea farmers market meeting Tuesday

The Albert Lea farmers market will hold their annual meeting Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 6:30 at the Albert Lea American Legion. The local farmers market is a non-profit group that supports and assists local producers in marketing their products more efficiently profitably and provides customers with fresher, tastier, and healthier products. You can sell vegetables, fruits, baked goods, eggs, jams and jellies, bedding, plants, flowers, local crafts, meats and pickles (according to state regulations). These items all need to be produced or made by the seller unless approved by the board. The local Farmers Market is open from mid-May through October, every Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the municipal parking lot on north Broadway and Fountain St., and every Saturday from 9 to noon at the Northbridge mall parking lot. Anyone interested in joining the market can come to the meeting, or if you are unable to come to the meeting, you may contact Verlys Huntly (507-297-5546) for more information.


Summer Rec. info. now available for NRHEG students

Registration information is now available for the 2014 Summer Recreation Program for preschool through 4th-grade students. The NRHEG Summer Rec. program forms were already sent home with students attending the elementary school in Ellendale. Please return them by April 4 to avoid the late fee.  If your child did not receive a registration form, please go on the NRHEG website,  www.nrheg.k12.mn.us, and look under Summer Recreation for your child's grade level.


Bloodmobile to be in New Richland April 2

Albert Lea VA Clinic grand opening April 25

The Albert Lea Veterans Administration Clinic Grand Opening is set for Friday, April 25, from 1-4 p.m. at Skyline Mall, 1665 W. Main St., Albert Lea. All Veterans and members of the general public are invited. Light refreshments will be served. The Minneapolis VA’s newest community-based outpatient clinic will be managed by Valor Healthcare, Inc (Humana Government Business).


Orientation for kindergarten April 28

Kindergarten orientation for all parents with students entering kindergarten in the fall of 2014 will be held at NRHEG Elementary School located in Ellendale, MN, on Monday, April 28, beginning at 4:45 p.m. The orientation will take place in the school cafeteria.


Nominees sought for parade grand marshal

The New Richland Farm and City Days Committee is seeking nominations for this summer’s Grand Marshal. Each year, the committee works to identify an individual that plays an active role in making New Richland a great place to live! If you know someone that deserves this honor, we ask that you submit a letter of nomination describing why you feel this person should be named the 2014 Grand Marshal. Letters must be received by Monday, May 26, 2014, and can be sent to: Grand Marshal Nomination, Farm and City Days Committee, PO Box 262, New Richland, MN 56072.


2014 Waseca Relay for Life set for June 21

The Relay For Life of Waseca County is celebrating its 21st anniversary this year . The event will be held Saturday June 21st 6 p.m. to midnight at the Waseca County Fairgrounds.
