I just started reading it.  Well, it’s due back at the library next week.   Driving by Bruce's drive  I have a wonderful neighbor named Bruce. Deep thoughts occur as I drive past his drive. I miss those hoses that dinged when I drove up to the gas pumps and an attendant either scurried or shuffled out to fill my gas tank, clean the

Remembering fishing as a youth

Just the other day, I was taking a drive around Fountain Lake, which is something that I do at least two times a week. On this particular drive, I happened to think of the many times that I would ride my bike into town to do some fishing. Years ago, the dam on Bridge Street had a series of waterways on the north side of the dam which helped with the water flow. I would climb on top of the walls

Weegman retires after six years

By JONAH STAFFORD Staff Writer Lise Weegman, NRHEG Secondary’s business teacher for the past six years, did not have an easy time deciding to submit her retirement this spring. The Class of 2023: to be determined

I knew writing my annual column about the graduating class at NRHEG would be tough. Having a child in the class adds a different tint to my observations. I’ve gotten to know some of these kids better than in other grades due to friendships and activities involving Anton. I always try to have a theme that applies to a graduating class. Usually, I have it figured out by February, but this year it didn’t occur until the beginning of May. It
