Dave Casper, age 73, of West St. Paul, MN passed away on March 23, 2024. He was born on August 8, 1950 in Waseca, Minnesota and grew up on the family farm in New Richland, MN. He was son to Earl and Mildred (Thiel) Casper and Ruth (Spaag) Casper. He graduated from NRHEG High School in New Richland, Minnesota and received his Bachelor’s in Education from Mankato State University.

After school he roofed, traveled, built decks, traveled some more, then settled in Rosemount, teaching 6th grade. He enjoyed teaching, but his passion was fixing up and flipping homes. He had a talent for seeing the potential and restoring foreclosed properties. Through time and hard work, he could smooth out the rough edges and transform a fixer upper into a beautiful family home. It was his gift.

Dave loved all sorts of outdoor activities, including biking, canoeing in the Boundary Waters, hiking, skiing and running. All who knew him can attest that Dave enjoyed visiting with friends and a good story.

In both his personal life and his work life, he had a helping spirit. He was always lending a hand with someone’s home project and suggesting plans for the future. Dave always had big plans.

Dave leaves behind a wife, Dannette (Friedriechsen) Casper, son, Matthew Casper, daughter in law, Erin (Rogers) Casper; his brothers Dale Casper and Dwight Casper; Dwight’s wife Gay Casper, along with his nieces and nephews, Kevin, Kari, Katie, Laura, and their families; as well as tons of loving friends.

Dave is preceded in death by Earl and Mildred (Thiel) Casper, Ruth (Spaag) Casper and Liz Casper.

Dave was caring and helping and will be missed by all.

Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, April 13th at Klecatsky & Sons West Chapel, 1051 So. Robert St., West St. Paul. There will be a gathering of family & friends two hours prior to the service.
