Joanne Mary Cromwell, 84, of Geneva, MN, passed away on November 12, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Joanne was born on January 26, 1938 to Clarence and Della (Waldemar) King in Geneva, MN. She at- tended and graduated from Albert Lea School. On October 27, 1957 she married the love of her life, Donly Cromwell at Community Lutheran Church in Geneva. They continued to make Geneva their home where they raised their 5 children.

Joanne’s pride and joy was her family. There was never a child, grandchild or great grandchild who’s birthday went by unnoticed. She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family and was never one to turn down a boat ride or drive in a fast car.

She treasured her role as Grandma and always had a cookie jar full of cookies and ice cream in the freezer. She especially treasured the time spent with family during the holidays. You couldn’t find an inch of open counter top during the month of December as she kept busy making every Christmas treat imaginable to bring to the family Christmas gath- erings

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Donly, of 65 years; children, Renae (Don) Olson of Janesville, Jodie (Steve) Dittrich of Owatonna, Guy (Tracy) Cromwell of Geneva, Lisa Cromwell of Albert Lea, and Tara (Jeff) Lembke of Geneva; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; brother Don (Diane) King of Albert Lea; sister, Iona Rydmark of Anoka; sister-in-law, Marie King of Austin; many nieces and nephews; and her furry friend, Penny.

She is joining in heaven: her par- ents, Clarence and Della King; mother-in-law, Olga Vanden Huevel; brothers, Laverne King, Keith King, and Darrel King; sisters-in-law, Virgetta King, Gayle Cromwell, Jackie Watson; brothers-in-law, Chuck Rydmark, Ronly Cromwell, Dale Cromwell and Rick Cromwell; nephews, Mike King, Kendall Cromwell, Jeff Cromwell, Rod Cromwell and Jay Cromwell.

A Funeral service will be held on November 17, 2022 at 1 p.m. at United Methodist Church in Ellendale, MN; Pastor Randy Cirksena will officiate. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Geneva Cemetery in Geneva, MN. Family and friends are invited to George’s of Geneva for food and fellowship following the service.
