Arlys passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna. She was 91 years old.

Arlys M. Edwards was born on June 22, 1926 in McIntosh, MN to Jacob and Myra (Henschke) Johnson. After Arlys graduated from McIntosh High School in 1944. She began working for Pioneer Mutual until 1949.  From there, she moved to California where she began working for Dart Industries, where she was  the Executive Secretary. She worked for Dart until 1982, where she would then return to New Richland.

On November 19, 1956, Arlys was united in marriage to Harry E. Edwards. The couple would enjoy their time together in California until Harry’s death in 1973.

Arlys was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and was very active in many different activities within the church. She was a member and past president of the Legion Auxiliary, where she served in that role for 12 years.  Arlys enjoyed listening and playing music, liked to golf, and enjoyed anytime where she could lend a hand and volunteer. Arlys enjoyed a good game of bridge with family and friends – and she always played to win!  There was always a full candy jar on Arlys’ table for any guests that may come over. Arlys did not have children, but she was liked to treat her nieces and nephews and their families like they were her own.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry; both parents, Jacob and Myra; siblings, Milton Johnson and Vi (Harry) Lillesve.

Arlys leaves behind her nephews and their families, Don (Mary) Lillesve and Karen (Lonny) Saulsbury; and Jim (Marti) Lillesve; grand nieces and nephews, Cayce (Chris) Gulbransen, Cory (Laura) Lillesve and their children, Amri and Porter, Tami (Matt) Bryan and their children, Will and Amelia, and Tony (Christina Wilson) Lillesve; as well as many relatives and even more friends.

Blessed be her memory.
