A celebration of life service for Garry M. Roeker, 72, of rural Sherburn, will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Burial will be in Welcome City Cemetery in Welcome, Minnesota.

Garry died unexpectedly at his home in rural Sherburn. Visitation and a time of sharing memories with the Roeker family will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Welcome and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Garry Martin Roeker was born October 25, 1943 at Waseca to Martin and Ione (Olson) Roeker. He received his education in Waldorf Public School. Garry helped on the family farm and also did manufacturing in Green Isle. On June 24, 1962 he was united in marriage to Lucille “Lucy” Thiesfeld at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg. They resided in various places including rural Janesville, Arlington, St. Clair and since 1979 living in rural Sherburn on Fox Lake. Garry was employed for Year Around Tractor Cab in Mankato, Kozy Heat in Lakefield, Winnebago Manufacturing in Blue Earth and Eagle Air in Welcome. Most recently he did organic gardening at his home in rural Sherburn. Lucy died on December 8, 2008. He continued living at his home on Fox Lake. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was especially devoted to his grandchildren Courtney, Mallory, and Brittney Mosloski and Ryan and Allyssa Roeker. Every year Lucy and Garry would travel down to Harlingen, Texas to spend time with their daughter. He greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. Garry made fishing lures and homemade wine. Once in a while he would end up in one of the local casinos.

He is survived by daughters, Pamela Mosloski and husband, Kevin, of rural Fairmont, Sheila Roeker and Kris of Harlingen, Texas; son, Wade Roeker and wife, Kimberly, of Cottage Grove; grandchildren Courtney, Mallory and Brittney Mosloski and Ryan and Allyssa Roeker; two brothers, Oren “Marty” Roeker and his wife, Alice, of Minnesota Lake, and Kevin Roeker and his wife, Patty, of rural Waldorf, ; sister, Cheryl Roeker of Minneapolis; sister-in-law, Carol Thiesfeld of Glencoe; nieces and nephews; special friend Betty Latzke of Arlington, and other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by his companion, his dog, Mia.

Garry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lucille “Lucy” Roeker and other relatives.
