Time for another thinking about thoughts column.

Waking up in the morning. Lately my mornings have been fluctuating between very well and very poor. For the most part my mornings are fine, but lately I’ve been waking up with migraines more and more. I think I may have an allergic reaction to Tylenol because I think it stopped working. Or maybe it never worked to begin with. But then there are days like today. I woke up feeling good and found myself in a great mood.

Reminiscing with old friends. I stopped over at my aunt’s house the other day after work to see how she was doing. She had to stay home Thursday because her youngest daughter was home sick, so we didn’t get to chat as much as usual. Well anyways I stopped over there and after a little while my cousin and her boyfriend walked in. I still can’t believe that the two of them started dating, because my cousin’s boyfriend also happens to be one of my best friends.

Once in awhile we get visitors here at the paper. Occasionally, two of those visitors are the two people I mentioned in the previous paragraph. Whenever they stop up, we torment my cousin Taya. I remember one time she said, “He’s always nice to me when you’re not around.” She was talking about me and how I didn’t pick on her when her boyfriend isn’t around.

So back to what I was originally writing about. The other night we were all hanging out and it made me want to mention how much I enjoyed that night. There’s something special about reminicsing about good times with people you care about. I heard somewhere that in life there are big moments you will always remember and little moments where you cherish the present. The point was that you can’t live life just for the big things, but rather, enjoy the little things.

Did you go to the football game? My dad and I did not brave the cold weather to watch the Panthers football game. Instead we tuned in the old-fashioned way via the radio. I wanted to say how proud I am of the team this year and our school district. I heard a rumor that the Caledonia team was not the most humble team they’ve seen this year. The Panthers have exemplified Panther Pride all season long and I know they play for the love of the game. As one of the football players told me early in the season. “Football is fun again.”

Thought for the day: In the words of a good country song, “Always stay humble and kind.”
