This is another running-of-the-words columns — fact or fiction, you decide.

Coronavirus, wildfires, shootings, vandalism, limited sports activities, school plus college attendance problems, hurricanes, Derecho winds, political problems, plust many other troubling situations all tough to handle are the current USA issues. Just remember, “We will all get through this!” (In case you’re wondering who has this great outlook, look in the mirror!)

Per the medical profession: you will live longer if you go up and down steps than if you don't. In other words, going to the washer and drier in the basement is good for you!

Duck hunters usually going to Canada will probably be going to North Dakota due to the Canadian border being closed.

The Soup and Pie Supper at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church will not be held this fall due to the virus.

Sign on a private fishing dock on Fountain Lake in Albert Lea: “Trespassers will be used for bait.”

Becky told Dave, “I’ve got tomorrow off and I’m bored; lets’ go out for breakfast.”

“O.K., where shall we go,” was the reply.

The result was B and B takeout eaten in the park by the Danish mermaid in Fountain Lake, with a rainbow in the water spout.

There is a rumbling about the U.S. Post Office doing their job while spending way too much money. Maybe the answer is no mail service on Saturday and Sunday. We must remember the post office is a service and not designed to be a moneymaker.

Grandparents’ Day is Sunday, Sept. 13. Whether living or deceased, give them a big shout-out.

Speaking of shout-out, Rodney Hatle, with his nine weeks of history in the Star Eagle on the history of New Richland, most certainly earned one.

How many examples can you think of to illustrate opposites attract? There is a prime example of this in the Democratic and Republican elections right now. Trump and Pence are opposite. Trump is loud and can be very pushy. Pence is quiet and reserved. Biden is quiet and reserved. Harris can be loud and very pushy.

The election result will be your wish was granted, whether you voted for a pushy or reserved ticket.

This past weekend was just like the good old days before the coronavirus took over. Genie and I went out Friday night to Perkins in Albert Lea for a great shrimp dinner with all the trimmings, topped off with pie and ice cream. We went to a wedding Saturday afternoon with the wedding dance that evening at the American Legion in Albert Lea. We were dancing the night away when the 7 a.m. alarm went off for Sunday church service. Our reaction was, “Back to the virus world, damn it!”
