Regarding the five area towns having about the same population, with Clarks Grove having the most population, but the smallest Main Street, I asked the Clarks Grove mayor, “How can this be?”

His reply, “Because Clarks Grove has the best mayor of the five towns.”

Readers, if you’re questioning the mayor’s reply, just ask Bruce Hansen.

In case you’re wondering what the great octogenarian Violet Hansen from Glenville removed from her bucket list, she went sky diving!

Where could you go to an outdoor Sunday church service led by a Lutheran pastor wearing a winter jacket the first Sunday in August? East Freeborn Lutheran Church, rural Albert Lea. That’s where the parishoners shivered as they huddled around a tree on Sunday, Aug. 2. The service included honoring the 2020 high school graduates and confirmants from Central and Freeborn Lutheran Church. The honoring was late this year because of the coronavirus.

Monday Morning, Aug. 3, the low temperature was 46 with Tuesday, Aug. 4 low also 46. The low temps caused the Danish mermaid in Fountain Lake to be in full uniform as she was wearing a bra, facemask and Twins baseball cap. In case you’re wondering about her uniform, the Danish soldier can verify it as I saw him winking at her as I walked by.

Tuesday morning’s low temperature caused a pink flamingo to get disoriented. I saw him all alone, partially buried in the sand, at the beach by Fountain Lake. I put him on our lawn in the sun, hoping the rest of the flamingo flock that I’ve seen around town would come to his rescue.

On the cold Tuesday morning walk, I started to shiver as I met two ladies on my walk. The one lady noticed me shivering and offered to give me a hug. I politely thanked her as my shivering stopped when she offered.

Maisy is quite the young lady of about 5 or 6 years old. Maisy is so well behaved she never makes a sound when I talk to the adult young lady she is with. I don’t know why, but Maisy is not allowed to ride in the Cooper black convertible driven by her walking companion. It might be because her companion honks at all the good looking guys. In case you’re wondering, Maisy is a great doggie and her companion honked at her!

At a televised Major League Baseball game, the following are usually present when you view the game on TV: umpires, players and coaches, balls and bats, cardboard fans in the stands, recorded music, TV announcers. At a televised Pittsburgh vs. Twins baseball game, which of the mentioned wasn’t in the ballpark? It was the first time I’ve ever watched the Twins when the announcers weren’t in the park. My reaction? Uffda.
