On Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church, rural Albert Lea, MN, seven confirmation students took a big step in their walk with their Lord. Psalms 118:24 reads: “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

Who were the seven with parents, grandparents, siblings, relatives, and sponsors just beaming with pride as each gave their speech? They were: Weston Dahl, Henry Eggum, Hale Enderson, Cheyenne Griggs, Pierce Martin, McKenzie Rogert, and McKenzie Romer.

Based on the wise old saying, “If mamma ain’t happy, nobody’s happy,” I agreed to help Genie in getting the word out regarding the hospital auxiliary fundraiser May 22-23 in the lower rotunda at the Albert Lea Hospital. The event is a bling it/gear bags sale. What it is and what the sale hours are, I don’t know. Genie said, “Just let it be known and be sure and bring more than $10.” (Ah, yes, and once again “mamma’s happy.”)

It’s early in the season and the question is: can the Twins continue their winning record the last 120 games as well as the first 40 games? I think they can—for certain with another good starting pitcher.

Assuming the Twins don’t play the Yankees in the playoffs, I am betting on the Twins to win the World Series.

Monday evening, August 5, the Twins are playing the Atlanta Braves at home in the 26th Annual Lutheran Night at the Twins. Following is the information many of you have been waiting for:

• F.R.O.G. (Fully Rely on God) of Central Freeborn Lutheran Church is taking a bus to the game

• Coach bus leaves at 4 p.m. on Monday, August 5 from behind Hy-Vee in Albert Lea. Vehicles may be left parked behind Hy-Vee

• Home-plate-view tickets to the game

• Four people will have the opportunity to go on the field to lead in singing the National Anthem

• “Deal or No Deal” prizes on the bus to the game

• Coupons for all

• Your name on the scoreboard if your birthday is August 5

• Bus parked nearby

• $5 cash back per person if the bus is full—57 tickets per bus

• Cost is $45 per person (paid in advance—no refunds)

For reservations, call Bob and Genie Hanson at (507) 373-8655 or Wayne and Bev Indrelie at (507) 826-3267.

It is anticipated that the bus will be full just before or just after July 4. If the bus is full, interested parties have the option of being placed on a standby list.
