The NRHEG girls’ track and field team hosted a triangular at New Richland last Thursday.

It was the Maddie Wagner-Hailey Schuller show.

The Panther duo combined to win five individual events and ran on a first-place relay as NRHEG won with 94 points to 73 for Maple River and JWP with 18.

Wagner’s wins: 100 meters, 13.6 seconds; high jump, 4-10; long jump, 15-11.5. Schuller’s: 100 hurdles, 17.2, 300 hurdles, 53.1. They teamed with Caitlin Goette and Marnie Wagner to win the 4x200 in 1:56.8. Marnie won the 200 in 28.6. Also winning were Emily Eder, discus, 88-1; Sophia Fischer, shot put, 35-2; and Emily Prigge, 3200, 14:12.8.

Marnie Wagner added a second-place finish in the high jump and a third in the 100. Schuller was second in the long jump.

“This was a nice small meet for the girls,” said coach Duey Ferber. “Winning 10 Events gives us a confidence boost. Maddie had a huge PR in the long jump.”

The Panthers traveled to Stewartville for the Glen Amundson Invitational Monday, April 18. Team scores: Stewartville 231, GMLOS 129, NRHEG 113, Blooming Prairie 66, Triton 49, Hayfield 49.

Firsts for NRHEG: Marnie Wagner, 200, 28.2; Maddie Wagner, high jump, 4-10; Schuller, 100 hurdles, 17.2; Maloney, triple jump, 32-8; Fischer, shot put, 30-11.5.

“What a beautiful day for a meet,” said Ferber. “Maggie Maloney had a great day at the triple jump. Steady Betty Hailey Schuller keeps placing in the top two.”
