NEW RICHLAND – Coach Grant Berg had another fantastic winter coaching the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva junior varsity team. 

The Panthers ended their season with a 19-2 record. 

The NRHEG JV teams have lost just six games in Berg’s four years at the helm. 

NRHEG was 12-2 against Gopher Conference teams and 7-0 in non-conference games. 

The Panthers were a perfect 10-0 on their home court and 9-2 on the road. The only losses were against Maple River and Blooming Prairie. 

NRHEG started its season winning its first 14 games. 

The Panthers averaged 56.7 points per game. NRHEG’s high mark was 73 points against Faribault BA. The low mark was 29 points in the Blooming Prairie defeat. 

NRHEG allowed 31.6 points per game.

The Panthers held three opponents under 20 points, allowing 16 against Fairmont, 17 against FBA and 19 against Blue Earth. 

Maple River scored 65 and 57 points against NRHEG, the most points it gave up in games this season. 

Members of the Panther JV this season included juniors Jade Peterson, Ryann Hagen and Kelli Harrington; sophomores Hailey Schuller, Ryley Koziokek, Katherine Lewer, Anna Lundberg, Emily Eder and Sophia Fischer and freshmen Kayley Camerer, Grace Johns, Rachel Collins and Gretchen Ramaker. 

Ramaker and Camerer were the team’s leading scorers.
