Harold Beyer, age 89 of Springfield, formerly of Comfrey, died Monday, February 1, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield.

Visitation will be on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. Service will be held at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, St. John Lutheran Home, on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. The clergy will be Pastor Brian Nehring and Chaplain Noel Wetter. Interment will be at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Faribault County north of Wells. Arrangements are with the Sturm Funeral Home in Springfield.

Harold Orville Ernest Beyer was born April 8, 1926, in Vivian Township, Waseca County, to Ernest and Lena (Steffen) Beyer. He attended School District #33. Harold was united in marriage to Norma Rae Callahan on December 11, 1947, at the First Lutheran Church in Wells. The couple lived with Harold's parents for 1 1/2 years before moving to New Richland where they farmed for 56 years. Harold was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey and enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.

Harold Orville Beyer died Monday, February 1, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield at the age of 89 years.

He is survived by children- Donald and wife Susan Beyer of Keller, TX, Leann Henry of Big Lake, Marlene and husband Sheldon Schuelke of Comfrey, and Donna and husband Quint Streich of Statesville, NC; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Arlene Rollenhagen of Wells; brother Harlan (Barb) Beyer of Waseca; sisters-in-law- Velma Brandt and Deloris Callahan; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Norma in 2014; and son-in-law Jim Henry.
