Funeral services for Clifford Russell Olson, age 87, of Hartland will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland. Rev. Mark Hillmer will officiate. Interment will be at the Hartland Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by local servicemen’s organizations; VFW and American Legion. Clifford died Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at his home peacefully surrounded by his family.

Clifford Russell Olson was born April 8, 1928 in Hartland, the son of William Oscar and Bertina (Sibilrud) Olson.  Clifford grew up in Hartland and attended school in Hartland. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On February 8, 1958 he was united in marriage to Mildred Elizabeth Johnson at the First Lutheran Chapel in Albert Lea. Clifford worked for Ulland Bros. as a Crusher Operator. He was a member of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, the Eagles and the American Legion for 63 years. Clifford was a volunteer fireman for 20 years. He enjoyed reading, collecting coins and spending time with family and Uncle Joe.

Survivors include his wife Mildred (Millie) Olson; children Richard Olson of Albert Lea and David (Allyson) Olson of Hartland; grandchildren Carman Olson of Albert Lea, Derek Olson of Hartland and Brooke Olson of Mankato; sisters Gloris Frantum and Wilma (Roger) Bindewald and many nieces and nephews.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents William and Bertina Olson; in-laws John and Bessie Johnson; brothers Wilbur Olson and George (Beverly) Olson; sisters Blanche (Nels) Edwin, Berdell (Irvin) Sutlief and Bonnie (Vern) Bergeson and brothers-in-law Wayne (Winnie) Johnson, Alfred (Virginia) Johnson and Glenn (Eleanor) Johnson.
