Paul was united in marriage to the love of his life Selma Berndt on November 10, 1948 in the Waldorf Lutheran Church and the couple shared 66 wonderful years together. He loved singing in the Owatonna Choral choir-solo's church choirs.  He served on many church boards and was also Superintendent of Sunday School, taught Sunday school and was a faithful member of  Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church and regularly attended church.
