Keith S. Edgar, 76, of Sparta, Wis., died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at his home. He was born on November 6, 1938 in Sanborn, MN to Bruce E. and Helen D. (Powers) Edgar.  He grew up in Sanborn and graduated from New Richland High School in June of 1956.

Keith enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Kodiak, Alaska. Upon his discharge after six years. He then attended Mankato State for two years and drove grain truck for his father. He traveled building Coast to Coast Hardware Stores all over the U.S. He then returned to finish his schooling at Mankato State with an Industrial Arts Degree.  He worked construction while he was in college. He went into trucking after school and he loved it, he retired from it because of health reasons.

Keith was active in the Army Reserve with numerous active duty works and worked for RTS medical until he retired. His total accumulated service entailed 30 years, six months, and 17 days culminating in the rank of 1st SG E8. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, very active sports fan, loved hunting and fishing, and was a favorite uncle to his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by four brothers, Terry (Natalie) Edgar of St. Louis Park, MN, Roger (Marcine) Edgar of Hudson, MN, Bradly (Cheryl) Edgar of Hector, MN, Randall Edgar of Hopkins, MN; stepmother, Marion Style of St. James, MN; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Derek Edgar.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held Monday, April 20, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas  66675. Online condolences may be offered at www.schanhoferfh.com.
