Luella E.  Fischer, 90, of Owatonna, died Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Owatonna Hospital. 

She was born March 1, 1924 in Lemond Township, Minnesota the daughter of William and Wanda (Willert) Krenke. Luella was united in marriage to Reuben Fischer on October 4, 1944 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Meriden.

She and her husband farmed on the family farm and she lived there until 2009 when she moved to the Sterling house in Owatonna. She will be fondly remembered for her wonderful cooking, baking, canning, sewing, quilting, gardening, and flowers. She enjoyed family gatherings and loved all of her large family. She and her husband worked together as Assistant Superintendents at the Steele County Fair in the grains and grasses department for over fifteen years. They also volunteered in the Village of Yesteryear in the Farm Machinery Building.  Together they enjoyed flea markets and going to many seed corn sales trips. Luella was a WELCA officer, a 4-H Leader and on the Zion Lutheran Church Council. Her church and her faith in the Lord were very important to her.

She is survived by her children Alice (Willis) Schwichtenberg of Freeport, IL, Shirley (Bob) Yocopis of Phoenix, AZ, Delaine Fischer of Owatonna, and Roselyn Imani of Sioux Falls, SD, twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Luella is also survived by her sister Laura Truebenbach of New Richland, and her brother Roland (Betty) Krenke of Owatonna.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Reuben, two sisters and three brothers-in-law.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday October 31, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. and at Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Patti Meyer officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Zion Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.
