Evangeline Stenzel, age 83, of St. Peter, formerly of Hartland, MN, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Visitation will be Thursday, September 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday. Father Thomas Niehaus will officiate and interment will be in St. Casimir Cemetery. Please see www.brussheitner.com to leave online condolences. Evangeline was born January 15, 1931, the daughter of Fay and Helen (Burnell) More in Blue Earth County. She was united in marriage to Dominic Walter Stenzel on November 16, 1948 in Waseca, MN. Throughout their married life, they farmed in the Hartland area. Evangeline was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church in New Richland. She enjoyed Bingo, bowling and baking, card playing and taking care of her family. She loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.

Evangeline is survived by 11 children: Carol (John) Creswell of Reinbeck, IA, Dale (Brenda) Stenzel of LeCenter, Rick (Mary) Stenzel of New Richland, John (Bert) Stenzel of Waseca, Jane (Steve) Swehla, Jean (Greg) Yokiel, Nancy (Daryl) Kruger, all of Wells, Pat (Sheila) Stenzel of Freeborn, Tim (Lori) Stenzel of Pemberton, Jerry (Peggy) Stenzel of St. Peter, and Jeff (Susie) Stenzel of Marshall, MN; 26 grandchildren: Matt (Nicole) Creswell of Reinbeck, IA, Steph (Ben) Goos of Gladbrook, IA, Missy (Jon) Sirek of Shieldsville, Kim (Josh) Edel of East Bethel, Rita Stenzel and Paul Stenzel, both of Mankato,  Jason (Lisa) Stenzel of Lily, SD, Mandy (Rich) Honstad, of Waseca, Josh (Kait) Stenzel,  Joe (Tiffany)Stenzel, all of Savage, Kevin (Lindsay) Swehla of Eden Prairie, Diane (Matt) Andresen of Woodbury, Brad (Sarah) Swehla of Eagan, Nick (Kristie) Yokiel of Comfrey, Andy (Jamie) Yokiel of Wells, Ryan Yokiel (fiancé Andrea Lipetzky) of Janesville, Ashley (Daren) Ignaszewski of Owatonna, Adam (Brittni) Kruger of Eagle Lake, Jenna (Nate) Steckelberg of Eagle Lake, Jill Stenzel of LaCrosse, WI, Dan Stenzel of Byron, Scott Stenzel of Mpls, Nicole and Megan Stenzel both of St. Peter, Madison and Logan Stenzel, both of Marshall; 29 great-grandchildren: Tyson and Paige Creswell, Cole and Spencer Goos, Ethan Huber and Wyatt Sirek, Matthew and Dominic Edel, Liliana Stenzel, Emma, Ethan, Myles and Henry Stenzel, Morgan, Alexander, and Owen Honstad, Mason and Olivia Stenzel, Aria Stenzel, Isabella and Zach Swehla, Nolan, Logan and Dylan Andresen, Brynley and Saydie Yokiel, Isaac Ignaszewski, Haydin Kruger, Ava Steckelberg.

Her siblings: Violet Stenzel, Ellamay Branster, Pearl Lantz, Fay More and Charles More.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dominic, brothers: Alvis, Marvin Dale and Kenneth, sisters: Thelma Evan, Betty Lou Fendrich, and grandson Sean Stenzel.
