Gladys M. (Hill) Winter, 96, died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Circle of Life Hospice House in Bentonville. She was born October 20, 1917 to Joseph and Minnie (Seck) Hill in Clifford, N.D. In 1920 she and her family moved to a farm near Thompson, IA. Gladys graduated from High School in Rake, IA. On December 1, 1938 she was united in marriage to John Winter. In 1951 she and John moved to their farm east of Geneva, MN where they farmed, working side by side for over 50 years. 

She and John spent many winters at their home in Arizona enjoying the beautiful weather. She loved gardening, baking, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Her last journey would take her to Bella Vista, Arkansas, to be near her daughter. She loved sitting outdoors enjoying the warm Arkansas sun.

Survivors include son, Alan (Karen) Winter of Golden Valley, Arizona; daughter, Judith Deml of Bella Vista, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kelli Winter (fiancé Steve Terrell), of Woodbury, Minnesota; Deidre Hinkle (Robert), of Albert Lea, Minnesota; Adam Deml (Suzann), of Bella Vista, Arkansas and step-granddaughter Michele Campbell-Hernandez (Juan) of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Great-grandchildren include; Hannah, Nathan, Dan, Kyle and Nick. Step-great-grandchildren; Brooklen, Brackston, Emilio and Mina. She also has five great-great-grandchildren.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband John; brother Wilmar Hill; sister Irene Gullord; and son-in-law Patrick Deml.

The memory of Gladys will be treasured by her family. She was a kind and loving mom and grandma. She will be greatly missed.

On September 6, 2014 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. friends and family are invited to gather at Best Western in Albert Lea, Minnesota for a time of fellowship and sharing memories. 

Memorials may be sent to hospice or the donor’s choice.
