Ordean loved being with family and friends. He loved to travel by car all over the United States and being up north at the lake in early years at his sister's house on Gull Lake and in later years at his daughter's on Tabor Lake in WI.

He loved the big family Christmas gatherings and the fourth of July at the lake with family and a good old walleye fish fry and pontoon boat rides. He so enjoyed the friendship he had with fellow residents at Park Ridge Apartments in Northfield and their trips for coffee, ice cream and to the casino.
