Marjorie Arlis Schroeder, 85, of Rosemount, MN, died Monday, January 27, 2014 at Fairview Southdale Hospital, Edina, MN. 

She was born on March 5, 1928 at home in Berlin Township, the daughter of Rudolph Osmer Anderson and Ethel Olena Anderson. She was baptized on May 6, 1928 and confirmed on June 7, 1942 at LeSueur River Lutheran Church, New Richland, MN. She is a graduate of Ellendale High School. On May 25, 1947 she married Norbert Wilfred Schroeder at LeSueur River Lutheran Church. She Later married Donald C. Palmer on July 21, 1978.

She worked at Jostens after leaving high school and later the Owatonna Canning Company. She enjoyed many years of working on the farm outside of Owatonna as well as being a member of many women’s organizations and church functions. She also worked at Faribault State School, Owatonna Tool Company and many other companies as well as being a nurse’s aide and she enjoyed doing daycare in her home for several years.

Her home was very special to her. She especially enjoyed working in her yard planting many flowers, bushes and trees.

She is survived by her children, Linda (David) Dietz, of Owatonna, Beverly (David) Buan of Oakdale, Duane (DeNell) Schroeder of Owatonna, Dean (Mary Jo) Schroeder, Owatonna and Julie Kervina of Eagan. She was blessed with many grandchildren, Shelia (Daniel) Sawyer, Loren Dietz, Thomas Dietz, Lisa (Anthony) Button, Jason (Michelle) Buan, Dana (Tony) Nelson, Delana (Jerry) Sevier, DeAndra Schroeder, Amy (Ahmed) Mohamed, Adam (Dragan Colakovic) Schroeder, Andrew Schroeder, Anthony (Shari) Schroeder, Alex Schroeder, Aaron Schroeder, Alyssa Schroeder, Lee (Carrie) Kervina and Kelly (Justin) Wiese. She is also survived by 32 great grandchildren; and her brother Rudolph “Rudy” Anderson of Albert Lea.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Rayfield, Donald, Merlyn and Edward and a sister Virginia as well as her parents.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Le Sueur River Lutheran Church in New Richland with a visitation an hour and a half prior to the service with the Reverend Brian Gegel officiating. Interment will be held in Le Sueur River Lutheran Cemetery. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
