It’s Homecoming time at NRHEG High School.

Queen and king candidates have been named and festivities set for next week, culminating when the football Panthers face Waterville-Elysian-Morristown at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26.

Coronation is set for Monday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the high school gymnasium in New Richland Dress-up days are scheduled for each day at the elementary and secondary schools.

Parades are Friday, Sept. 26, at 12:30 p.m. in Ellendale and 2:15 p.m. in New Richland.


Royalty candidates are:


Queen

• Ryann Hagen, daughter of Barb and Chuck. She has one older brother, Brett. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with her friends and riding horse. Ryann’s extra-curricular activities include volleyball, basketball, and softball. One fun fact about her is that she has “a need for speed.” Ryann’s future plans are to attend a four-year college to become a pediatric nurse.

• Alyssa Esplan, daughter of Darin Esplan and Kiersten Knudson. She has one brother, Dustin. Alyssa enjoys spending time with friends, family, and her boyfriend. She also likes to go shopping and long walks. She is active in volleyball and softball. Something you might find interesting about Alyssa is that when she was little, her brother convinced her that if she ran into a wall hard enough, candy would be behind it. Alyssa’s future plans are to be a teacher and softball coach.  She also wants to dance with Ellen DeGeneres on her show and receive multiple gifts from her for no reason.

• Anna Stork, daughter of Dan and Stacy. She is the oldest child of four. She has one brother, Jake, and two sisters, Sophie and Chloe.  Anna enjoys handing with her friends and boyfriend and watching movies.

Anna is a member of the volleyball, basketball, and softball teams.

Something you might find interesting is that Anna would like to live in London someday.

Her future plans are to attend a four-year university and major in nursing.

• Jade Hill, daughter of Kory and Vicki Kress and the late Danny Sikel. She has five younger siblings: Destiny, Cherysh, Jacklynn, Shayna, and Tyler. In her spare time, she enjoys doing wrestling stats, showing her dogs in 4H, and hanging out with her boyfriend, Keith. Jade is involved in band/color guard and is a statistician for the wrestling team. One fun fact about Jade is that she works at Caribou Coffee where her coworker convinced her that mermaids and unicorns are real. Jade’s future plans include attending a four-year college and getting her bachelor’s degree in nursing. Jade wants to wish good luck to the football team! Go kick butt! And to the rest of the teams — keep up the good work!

• Kaylee Hanson, daughter of Darren and Chris. She has two brothers, Dillon and Jarred. In her spare time, Kaylee enjoys floating on the lake, laughing with her best friends, and hanging out with Kevin. aylee is involved in band and color guard. She also helps out the volleyball team by taking stats. Something you might find interesting is that when Kaylee was six, she used a dish rag as a potholder and almost started the house on fire. Her future plans are to attend a four-year college and pursue a career in the medical field. Kaylee would like to wish good luck to the volleyball and cross country teams this week and to the football team on Friday night. She also wants everyone to have a fun homecoming week.


King

• Macoy Schwierjohann, son of Jeff and Tammy Busho and Lee and Sherry Schwierjohann. He has three siblings, Spencer, Logan, and Maddy. Macoy’s hobbies include golf, longboarding, and bike rides at dusk. His extra-curricular activities include basketball and golf. Macoy plans to attend college and major in business.

• Spencer Tollefson, son of Mark and Sandy. He has one older brother, Carter, and one younger sister, Emma. In his spare time he enjoys hanging out with friends and playing sports. Spencer is a member of the football, basketball, and track teams. He plans on attending college and majoring in business.

• Trevor Tracy, son of Scott and Tracy. His siblings are brothers, Zak and Dakota, and sister-in-law, Courtney. In his spare time Trevor participates in sports, likes chilling with his boys, and playing guitar. Trevor’s extra-curricular activities include football, basketball, and baseball. Trevor once unknowingly put year-old half and half milk in his cereal, ate some, and proceeded to throw up in the bathroom. His future plans consist of attending a four-year college in the metro area majoring in the field of engineering; specifically software or mechanical.

• Nick Bartness, son of Mark and Kelly. His siblings are Noelle and Holly. Nick’s hobbies include farming and fishing. Nick is involved in football and wrestling.  He is also a member of the National Honor Society. Nick’s future plans are to attend SDSU or SMSU.  At this time his major is undecided.

• Matthew Jensen, son of Craig Jensen and Jeanette Jensen. He has one brother, Joe. Matt’s hobbies include hunting and fishing. Matt’s extra-curricular activities include football, baseball, and wrestling. One fun fact about Matt is that he has three pet birds that he loves to death. His future plans are to go to college in Winona and play baseball there.
