Saturday night in downtown Ellendale this summer has become an inspirational event one can't say enough about it.

It has been great to see the following of local residents, and out of the immnediate area people, who have been coming to listen to the great music and visit with their neighbors. The faithful who have been following the talent is commendable. If you haven't been there yet, you don't know what you are missing.

September has come on us all too quickly it seems, but Russ Goette has kept on top of things and has gotten some great music lined up. With darkness sneaking in earlier and earlier, there has been a need for a time change and the Saturday night programs now start at 6:30.

On September 6, the “Singing Cowgirl,” Lisa Murphy, from the Mankato area, will be on stage sharing many great country tunes. Your presence will prove what a friendly, welcoming town Ellendale is and how appreciative you are of good entertainment.

On September 13, local musical artist Matt Arthur will be the inspiring voice to enjoy. Blind from birth, Matt is a talented musician and vocalist. Living in darkness must be discouraging, but you would never know it because Matt is proof of great accomplishments and is eager to share what he has been given.

Darlene Smith will take center stage on September 20 and Ross Sletten, who was rained out in his first scheduled performance, will be on stage September 27.  Ross is a busy businessman. He teaches karate and loves music and has been willing to share his talent on many occasions. He has also encouraged his family to share their musical talents too and if we are lucky he will include them in his program.

Becky Lassahn again provided "floats extraordinary" for a free will offering as a fund raiser for the Assembly of God Refuge. Becky always finds a way to contribute to a cause. Maybe that is why it tastes so good.

Once again, we hope you will put these dates on your calendar and that we will see you in downtown Ellendale on Saturday nights in September.
