Memorial services for Donald Alan Haberman were held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 18 at Community Lutheran Church in Geneva. Pastor Kristen Venne officiated.

Donald Alan Haberman, age 74, of Blooming Prairie died Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at his home. He was born June 2, 1942 in Owatonna, Minnesota, the son of Henry and Marion (Awes) Haberman.

Donald attended country school and then Dodge Center High School. He made a living as a farmer and truck driver. On February 22, 1962, Donald and Charlotte Laite were married at the Community Lutheran Church in Geneva, Minnesota. The couple raised five daughters.

In the early years of their marriage, Donald farmed, and then held various trucking jobs. In later years, he had paper routes, delivering the Rochester Post Bulletin and Albert Lea Tribune. The grandkids loved going along with Grandpa to deliver papers. Don loved to hunt and fish, and he enjoyed seeing the country on his job as a trucker. His favorite pastimes included Sunday family dinners, square dancing, and playing cards. Don loved giving his family rides with his miniature horses, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. In 2014, Don moved to Blooming Prairie.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte, of Blooming Prairie; his daughters, Annette Hove, Teresa Haberman, Geraldine (Larry) Wurst, Lisa Niedermeier, and Angela Haberman, all of Blooming Prairie; his mother-in-law, Emilie Laite of Owatonna; stepmother, Zenobia Haberman, of Blooming Prairie; aunt, Otilla Anderson, of Mankato; 13 grandchildren, Heather Hove, Justin Hove, Ashley Nichols, Trevor Barber, Christopher Burke, Rachel Ranvek, Elizabeth Wurst, Matthew Wurst, James Niedermeier, Corey Lyman, Casey Lyman, Addison Lyman, Ava Bergeron; seven great-grandchilren; five step-great grandchildren; siblings Marion (Harold) Johnson of Dodge Center and Jenelle Gallus of Hastings; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ray (Phyllis) Laite of Owatonna, Barb (Ron) Hagen of Bricelyn, Linda (Jim) Laite of Bricelyn, Colleen  (Jim) Wyatt of Rake, Iowa, Ron (Becky) Laite of Albert Lea.

Don was proceeded in death by his parents Henry and Marion Haberman; brother Gerald Haberman; father-in-law Leonard Laite and brother-in-law Leonard Gallus.
