Keith “Chuck” Charles Wakefield of Burnsville and Hartland, MN and Milltown, WI died suddenly and peacefully at home on December 16th at the age of 73. Survived by his wife and best friend of 38 years, Dr. Shelley (Nelson) Wakefield, and daughters Brooke (Tristan) Jernall and Leah Wakefield.

Merlyn Lavern Bohlen passed away peacefully at his home in New Richland, MN on December 24, 2022 at the age of 93.

Merlyn was born on October 11, 1929 to Richard and Hazel (Bonewitz) Bohlen in Rud, Iowa. He attended school in Colwell, Iowa and then at a young age, went to work to help support his family. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as an airplane engine mechanic instructor.

While stationed in Texas, Merlyn met a gal name Cecilia Detten. They married on June 11, 1955 and eventually made their way to the Minnesota Iron Range. He worked with his father’s concrete step company and did welding at an iron works company. They had three sons and soon moved their family to New Richland, MN.

Barbara Kay Jenson of Ellendale, 80, passed away De- cember 27, 2022 at the New Rich- land Care center with her family by her side. Barbara was born May 16, 1942 in Waseca County to George and Sadie (Palm) Jenson and raised with her brothers and sisters in Sherwood, ND.

Barbara enjoyed her days walk- ing about town, rain or shine, to visit her many friends, volunteer- ing her time at SEMCAC and the laundry mat, helping customers to wash and fold their laundry while keeping the place clean and tidy. She also enjoyed cooking and bak- ing; skills that she learned from spending time with her mother growing up.

Mary Ann Louise Kramer, age 72, of Granite Falls, MN passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 2, 2023 at Granite Falls Lutheran Church, 350 9th Avenue, Granite Falls, MN, with Rev. Joyce Capp and Father Paul Timmerman officiating. Mary Ann was born May 9, 1950 to Howard and Marie (Henrich) Frie- drich in Arlington, MN. She was a 1968 graduate of New Richland

High School, New Richland, MN and attended college at Stout State University, Menomonie, WI, and the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN. On September 19, 1970, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Thomas Kramer at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Saint Paul, MN. They were blessed with 4 children: Jeremy, Laura, Rebecca, and Colin.

Lilly Bertha Krause, age 96, of Waseca died on December 24, 2022 at Prairie Home Field Crest Assisted Living in Cottonwood.

Born on January 8, 1926 in Wes- ton-Marathon, Wisconsin to Au- gust and Clara (Block) Wetzel. Lilly was united in marriage to Victor Elgin Krause on December 27, 1952 at the Assembly of God Church in Wells. Together they had three children and made their home on the farm in Wilton town- ship. Following Victor’s passing in 1959, Lilly continued to live on the farm while raising their children. Lilly was active with her church as a Sunday school teacher. She was a foster mom for many children over the years. Lilly enjoyed gar- dening, baking and cherished the time she spent with her grandchil- dren.

Lilly is survived by her children: Dennis (Sue) Krause of New Rich- land, Joel (Kim) Krause of Hauser, ID, and Vicki (Mike) Flugum of Cottonwood; grandchildren: Den- nis (Kristin) Krause, Stacey Krause, Joshua (Nicole) Krause, Krystle Krause, Nicolas (Erica) Krause, Marshal (Ryley) Krause, Daniel (Angela) Flugum, Matthew (Tami) Flugum, and Christine (Daniel) Demeules; 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
