Eleanor “Ellie” Jean Anderson, 84, of Owatonna, died Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Prairie Manor Care Center. 

She was born February 1, 1933 in Lemond Township the daughter of Herbert and Mabel (Hanson) Wodrich. Eleanor graduated from Ellendale High School.  She married Arthur Anderson June 16, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church. The couple farmed with Art's dad and lived on the farm near Bixby.  In 1966, they moved from the farm to Bixby. Eleanor worked for Tincher Peterson Sincock Insurance Agency before starting her 25 year career with Jostens and later worked for Mast Machining in Bixby. Following her husbands death, Eleanor moved to Owatonna where she worked for Barker Law Office and United Way.

Eleanor was a member of Senior Place and bowled in league for several years.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church until moving to Bixby and then became a member of First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie.  

Eleanor enjoyed dancing, playing cards, crocheting, watching polka dancing on TV, playing games on her computer and spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino with friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Jeri (and Elvin) Alwes of Blooming Prairie, Juli (and Larry Tolle) Anderson of Plymouth; grandchildren, Jim (and Naomi Smith) Alwes, Jennifer (and Josh Becker) Alwes, Jessica Alwes, Lucas Tolle; great grandchildren, Tyler Clark, Kollyn Alwes, Ashleigh Alwes, Kaiden Alwes, Zoey Alwes, Aubry Alwes, Rayanne Alwes;  brother, George Wodrich of Ellendale and one niece.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Anderson; son, James Anderson; grandson, Jeffrey Alwes.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, Nov. 8 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Michaelson Funeral Home with Pastor Heidi Heimgartner officiating. Interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Blooming Prairie.
