Memorial services for Harriet L. Johnson, 86, of Albert Lea will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at West Freeborn Lutheran Church.  Rev. Steven Schwartz will officiate.  Interment will be at West Freeborn Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com 

Harriet died Sunday, September 03, 2017 at her home.  

Harriet L Johnson was born May 13, 1931 at home on a farm in Steele County, the daughter of Harry and Cannetta (Loken) Helland.  She was baptized June 21, 1931 at the Le Seuer River Lutheran Church in rural New Richland, her sponsors were Chris and Sara Hagen, Della Paulson and Elmer Loken.  She was confirmed at West Freeborn Lutheran Church and graduated from Freeborn High School in 1949.  On April 8, 1951 Harriet was united in marriage to Robert Johnson at West Freeborn Lutheran Church.  She was a stay at home mom and worked alongside her husband on the farm.  Harriet was a member of West Freeborn Lutheran Church where she served on altar guild, ladies aid treas. and president for 1 year.  

Survivors include her husband, Robert; children Nannette (Wayne) Hendrickson, Mark (Gail) Johnson and Candace (Steve) Sorensen; daughter-in-law Candy Johnson; grandchildren Amy (Kory) Newman, Matthew (Jenny) Hendrickson, Brent Hendrickson, Trent Johnson, Danielle Johnson and special friend Dan, Mackenzie Johnson and Kacey Johnson; great-grandchildren Alexa, Ashley and Alyvia Newman, Madison and Preston Hendrickson and Hope and Jacob Hendrickson; in-laws Robert and Wilma Pestorious, Jean Collins and Jane Crowe and many nieces and nephews.  

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Cannetta Helland; father and mother-in-law Willie and Alice Johnson; son Neil Johnson; great-grandbaby Karissa Joy Hendrickson; sister Lenore and Blair Forsythe and brothers-in-law Wesley Crowe and Pat Collins.
