Lynne L. Swenson, age 79 of rural New Richland, died on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna.

Born on May 20, 1937 in Waseca, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Cecil and Eleanor (Wiste) Kelling. She graduated from Waseca High School in 1955 and attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis for training as a lab tech.  Lynne was employed at the Waseca Clinic for 30 years until her retirement. She married David Swenson on April 23, 1960 in Waseca and together they raised two children. Lynne was active in both her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. She and David loved to travel. There were many family vacations over the years and in their retirement they made the trip of a lifetime to Norway and Sweden. Lynne was an amazing cook and hostess. Rarely would you find her idle, rather helping, loving, and serving others. She loved baking, gardening, and shopping.  Lynne was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca.

She is survived by two children, Mark Swenson of Siren, WI and Karen (Terry) Nafe of Waseca; seven grandchildren, Matthew Nafe, Mackenzie Swenson, Samuel Nafe, Jacob Swenson, Jessica Nafe, Daniel (Amy) Ascher and Kristy (Bob) Anderson; and one great-grandson, Mason Ascher. She is also survived by one sister, Shirley (Tom) Hagerty of St. Michael; one brother, John (Mary) Kelling of Windsor, CT; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, David.

Visitation will be held at Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 4-7 p.m and continue on Tuesday, one hour before services at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca. Burial will follow at Vista Covenant Cemetery.
