A gathering in remembrance of Kenneth W. Farr of Geneva, MN, will be held Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 2 until 5 p.m. at the Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea, MN.

Kenneth died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center. He was 75 years of age.

Kenneth was born May 18, 1940 in Albert Lea, MN, the son of Harvey and Zadie (Ferguson) Farr. He attended the “Farr” Country School and on December 24th, 1956 was united in marriage to Julia Stieglbauer in Northwood, IA. He lived his entire life in the Geneva area and had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Geneva.

Kenneth farmed for many years, worked in building construction, was the owner of Southern Minnesota Pup Pen and was employed hauling livestock. He was a member of the Sunset Saddle Club, various cattlemen’s associations and the Midwest Houndsman’s Association. He enjoyed raising cattle, Arabian horses, hunting dogs, and various other animals. He also enjoyed hunting, building wagons, racing ponies and tinkering with cars, motorcycles and snowmobiles. He especially loved the time spent with family and the grandchildren.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Julia, of Geneva, MN, daughters Linda (Jerry) Schiller of Owatonna, MN, Shari Farr of Albert Lea, MN, and Gail (Craig) Christenson of Ellendale, MN. Grandchildren include Tyler (Tiffany) Schiller, Brittany (Jeff) Harriman, Collin Christenson, Tory Christenson, Briley Christenson and great-grandchildren Korey, Kallie, McKenzie, John and Kylie. Also surviving is one brother, Charles Farr of Mankato, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harry, Stanley, Raymond, James and sister Dorothy Bergland.
