Beulah Ann Rohde, age 85 of Waseca died on Monday, May 23, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester surrounded by her loving family.

 Born on July 19, 1925 in New Richland Township, Waseca County, Minnesota she was the daughter of Michael and Josephine (Weber) Weydert.  Beulah graduated from New Richland High School.  She was employed at the E.F. Johnson Co. in Waseca until her marriage to James Rohde on August 27, 1946 in New Richland.  After getting married, she worked nights at Birds Eye Division of General Foods in Waseca and she later worked in the cafeteria at Sacred Heart School for many years.  Beulah also worked for several years at the Waseca County Assessor and Recorder’s Offices until her retirement in 1986.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a wonderful friend to all those who were fortunate to have known her.  Beulah enjoyed life through many struggles and was a woman of strong faith.  She enjoyed gardening, making floral arrangements, cooking, playing cards, keeping up with the news and her stories, and spending time with her family.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters. 

She is survived by four children, Laura Rohde of Waseca, Jim (Paula) Rohde of Minneapolis, Jodell (Mike) Hayes of Bloomington, and Tim (Judy) Rohde of Mapleton; five grandchildren, Kelly (Jeremy) Erickson, Amber Rohde, Nate Hayes, Ben Rohde, and Maddie Hayes; and she was expecting her first great grandchild in June.  Beulah is also survived by one sister, Marcella Becker of Oelwein, IA; one brother, Mike C. (Jeanie) Weydert of New Richland; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2004, and one sister-Irene Veal.

 Visitation will be held at Kinder-Dennis Home for Funerals on Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. with a 4:30 p.m.Catholic Daughter’s rosary and a 7:30 p.m. parish prayer service.  Visitation will also be held on Friday, one hour before services at the church. 

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Waseca.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waseca County.
