Janice died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

Janice Muriel Morstad was born on February 25, 1933 to Ole and Alma (Johnson) Morstad in Hartland.  She graduated from Freeborn High School and attended two years at Mankato Business School. Janice has worked in the secretarial capacity for 40 years for the meat packing plant in Albert Lea, formerly Wilson & Co., surviving two long strikes and a shutdown of 9 months due to bankruptcy.

During the '60s and '70s, Janice took many trips with friends, including a two week tour of Germany, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and London, also trips to Hawaii and Florida.  After purchasing her home in Albert Lea in 1979, her trips became less frequent.  Janice was a member of Cross of Glory Church and very active in the WELCA, church choir and many other church functions.  She was also a member of the Wilson's choir.  Janice was an avid Twin's fan and was proud to have been able to attend a game in the new stadium.  In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing golf, sewing for her family and walked everywhere she needed to go. Spending time with her family especially at holidays was her greatest joy.

Survivors include her brother, Orvin and wife Betty Morstad of Hartland; nieces and nephews, Gene and wife Linda Pederson of Hartland, Jerry and wife Jill Morstad of Albert Lea, Alvin and wife Cindy Morstad of Hartland, Corrine Morstad of Rochester and Carrie and husband Bret Kitner of New Prague; many great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
