The New Richland Area Foundation display will be set up in the City Council room during the 2014 Farm and City Days Pancake Breakfast on Saturday July 12 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The NRAF’s mission is to continually improve the community awareness in how to contribute and also make aware where the funds have helped in our community and schools.

The search is over for the 2014 New Richland Farm & City days medallion. It was found Monday by Kendra Raimann, hidden under the slide at Legion Field.

Ellendale Days starts Thursday

Roger Swearingen was born and raised in Ellendale and, except for a stint in the U.S. Air Force in the 1960s, has lived there all his life.

For upwards of 20 years, Swearingen faithfully served Ellendale as the town’s maintenance man.

Since 2012, he’s been known as Mayor Swearingen.

On Saturday, he’ll assume another role — grand marshal of the 2014 Ellendale Days Parade.

“It’s quite an honor,” said Swearingen. “I didn’t expect it.”

The month of July is another month that is becoming a fund raiser for the New Richland Area Food Shelf.

The NRAFS has been invited and is registered for the 2014 Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless July Challenge Grant, which is extended to all food shelves that are  members of Hunger Solutions MN.  The grant is based on the amount of money a food shelf can raise in July.

The NRAFS is able to receive a minimum of $150 up to a maximum of $5000.

Clue No. 2 has been released as folks search for the Farm and City Days medallion.

If found, the medallion should be turned in to New Richland City Hall.

Clue No. 2:

Park and look all you want. Advice to you would be run or walk. Round and round the people go. Keep in mind 2 and 3!

All the directions just pick two. Now just think north, south, east, west. Don’t worry just do your best.

Listening off straight ahead you are sure to hear a bang. Off to my left is a county road. Off to my right are many you could say that are wise. Keep in mind direction is the key.
