Imagine yourself walking through a shimmering city of lights and underneath the Eiffel Tower, wearing either an elegant dress or a dashing tuxedo. You can make that picture reality at NRHEG’s 2018 grand march and prom, scheduled for Saturday, May 5.

This year’s theme is “The City of Lights,” a nickname for the French city of Paris. Prior to the grand march, the estimated 140 participants will pick up their tickets and prom shirt at the New Richland Care Center, where the residents will enjoy a sort of mini grand march by seeing everyone’s dresses and outfits. At the school, Hemmingway photography will be on hand through the afternoon for anyone who wants to buy photos.

For the grand march, lights will be streamed all around the gym, the illuminating grand march, which begins at 3:30. A seventeen-foot model of the Eiffel Tower will be a centerpiece of the decorations, with couples walking through it during grand march: It will be as realistic as the prom committee can make it!

Following the grand march, participants will travel by charter bus to a beautiful St. Croix River boat, where they will sail the night away. An exquisite dinner of pasta, salad, and breadsticks will be provided, followed by dancing, all the pictures you want to take, and loads of fun.

Around midnight, everyone will be transported to the entertainment venue Grand Slam, in Burnsville. There, prom-goers can change into more comfortable attire and take part in laser tag, mini-golf, a trampoline room, bumper cars, and batting cages. Everyone will receive four free tokens for the arcade; snacks will also be available.

After a long and fun filled night, students will again board their charter buses and return for an early-morning breakfast at the school. Afterwards, there will be prizes and farewells. NRHEG’s 2018 prom will be so enjoyable, you won’t want the night to ever end!

Sign-up for prom is March 21 and 22. Be sure to take care of all the necessary details so you can be part of this exciting event.
