Green Eggs and Ham breakfast rescheduled for Monday

NRHEG Elementary will hold its annual Green Eggs and Ham breakfast on Monday, March 10, postponed from Friday, March 7. The breakfast will last from 7 a.m. until 8:15. Please join us in this annual breakfast in support for “Read Across America” that started March 3. 


Pontoppidan to host waffle breakfast

Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in rural Ellendale will host an all-you-can-eat breakfast featuring Dad’s Belgian Waffles Saturday, March 8 from 9 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $7, children 5 and under free. Carry-outs will be available. Pontopppidan is located at 96571 SE 75th St., Ellendale.


NRHEG band concert scheduled for Tuesday

The NRHEG High School band concert is Tuesday, March 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school gym. It will feature all bands from grades 5-12 and will also feature special guest soloist Adrian Barnett. It is free of charge.


Farm & City Days meeting Tuesday

The next Farm & City Days meeting will be Tuesday, March 11, 5:30 p.m. at New Richland City Hall. All are welcome.


‘Queens of the Court’ posters still available

The NRHEG girls’ basketball team “Queens of the Court” posters are being sold at several local businesses. Proceeds from sale of the posters goes toward Carlie Wagner attending the upcoming high school all-star game and to Team Eppen, a cancer benefit fund for former NRHEG teacher and coach Matt Eppen.


Waseca Farm and City Luncheon March 20

The Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce AgriBusiness committee and Ambassadors will present the annual Farm and City Luncheon Thursday, March 20 11:45 a.m. at the Waseca American Legion. Cost is $11 per person. The program will recognize Waseca County Outstanding Young Farmer, Waseca County Farm Family of the Year, Waseca County Distinguished Agriculture Leadership Awards. Please RSVP to the chamber at 835-3260 by Monday, March 17. The public is invited.


Nominees sought for parade grand marshal

The New Richland Farm and City Days Committee is seeking nominations for this summer’s Grand Marshal. Each year, the committee works to identify an individual that plays an active role in making New Richland a great place to live! If you know someone that deserves this honor, we ask that you submit a letter of nomination describing why you feel this person should be named the 2014 Grand Marshal.
