Our vision as a school community is to be the school district of choice, inspiring excellence in academics, arts, and activities. We strive to do this every day by empowering students with knowledge and skills to succeed. We have much to celebrate in our school district beginning with the many accomplishments of our students. However, our students would not experience many of their successes without the guidance, care and support of our staff.
Throughout the past few weeks, we have had the opportunity to join public school districts across the country in recognizing school employees including teachers, nurses, custodians, administrative professionals, and others for the difference they make in the lives of our students. While the individual recognitions by national associations and organizations are special and appreciative, I have often used this time of year as an opportunity to recognize and thank all our school employees for what they do each day in service to students, staff, parents, and our communities. Regardless of the position, each school employee is an educator to our students.
NRHEG school employees have the opportunity and responsibility to educate students and model for them our mission and core beliefs in all that we do. Public school educators are special. Most of them spend a career in service to others. They do not receive nearly the recognition they deserve, but that is not why they are in the business of helping students grow and develop into productive members of the communities in which they live. Our educators do what they do every day simply because they care about, and enjoy working with kids.
Public education is perhaps the most challenging profession; however, it is the most rewarding as well. Each day, our educators have the enormous responsibility to guide, nurture, and teach students. Parents entrust their child to our employees with the expectation to make a positive difference in their child’s life. There is nothing more important to our future than ensuring our children have a strong support system both at home and at school, and that our students receive a quality education. I am thankful every day for the opportunity to work with employees who are passionate about helping kids!
Our employees serve our students through their understanding, knowledge, leadership, and high level of care. They serve our communities as dedicated and diligent employees. We serve them with our appreciation and gratitude.
A reminder that the School Board conducts its regular monthly meeting on the third Monday of each month. The location of the meeting is rotated monthly between the NRHEG Secondary School Media Center in New Richland and the NRHEG Elementary School Media Center in Ellendale. The May 15, 2017, School Board meeting will be at the Elementary School beginning at 6:30 p.m., and the June 19, 2017, School Board meeting will be at the Secondary School beginning at 6:30 p.m.
We celebrate together in the accomplishments of our students because we are in this journey together as a school community. Thank you for all you do to support NRHEG Public Schools and our students!
