This will be a column of many topics. You be the judge of fact or fiction.

Have you seen the Baseball Forever stamps?

If the Twins can win 60 percent of their remaining games, they should be in the playoffs as a Wild Card.

How about that new young pitcher for the Twins? He doesn’t get flustered, throws mostly strikes, is addicted to gum and knows how to win. He is 44 years old (young by my standards) and a boost to the Twins pitching staff.

I have purchased a deer-hunting license for 2017. Blaze pink is now an acceptable color for wandering around the countryside in Minnesota. All the literature I’ve read doesn’t say anything about pink increasing your success ratio. Currently one of 10 Minnesotans hunt deer with their success rate from 30 to 40 percent depending on the year. In the last 59 years I’ve hunted deer 56 years with 23 bagged, or 40 percent so I think I’m above average (I will not be wearing blaze pink).

In my opinion, this is most certainly not a typical weather pattern we’re in. The Dog Days hot temperature days of August were in July. The first day of fall is Friday, Sept. 22, yet we had fall temperatures in August. It has been so cold in August that the Danish mermaid has been wearing a “Save our Hospital” T-shirt. The crops are behind in maturity for this time of the year. I’m hoping for a later-than-normal frost or farmers will be in a financial bind. Could this be global de-warming?

At 509 Albert Lea St., by the curb, there is an interesting watering hole for dogs or short people with low standards (they don’t judge). There is also a dog bar with dog biscuits at the same location. It is worth the drive by.

A plea for your magazines goes out. The medical facility in Albert Lea is hurting for magazines. Please leave your magazines when you’re through with them at the front desk as you walk in the facility. I’m a Naeve Auxiliarian volunteering to help recycle magazines.

There is a magazine scam playing on your recognizing the name of a magazine you’re currently subscribing to. The billing states it is a continuation of a current magazine you’re receiving. In small print at the bottom it states, “This is an offer from an independent company, not a bill.” We have received this offer twice for magazines from Grinnell, Iowa (Guidepost and Angels).

I got a telephone call from my grandson at 860-742-1926. He needed money and his car was totaled and he was in the hospital. I refused to help, as I don’t have a grandson!

If you haven’t been hit by a falling acorn in the last 30 days, you haven’t been under and oak tree.

Your local ice cream store is selling 23-mile ice-cream cones for $2.50; $1.50 goes to the store and $1 goes to help save our hospital.

What is the most popular lawn sign up to 40 miles from the Albert Lea hospital? If you don’t have one, I bet one of your neighbors does.
