Clara White to celebrate Sunday

Former Ellendale resident Clara White, mother of Ed Jensen of Beaver Lake; Dennis Jensen of Albert Lea; and Joanne Neuhart of LaCrosse, Wisconsin, will celebrate her 105th birthday Sunday, July 26.

Clara felt bad when she had to leave Southern Minnesota area back in 2004 and misses seeing so many of her dear friends and family, but getting mail from the people back home is greatly appreciated.

Clara was first married to Gordon Jensen and they were the proud parents of five children: Marshall, Edwin, Wyman, Dennis, and Joanne. Marshall and Wyman are no longer with us but are remembered, especially when the family gathers for special events.

Gordon passed away in 1962 and Clara later married Rev. John White in 1965 and they shared a life together for almost 30 years before he passed away in 1993. Clara continued to live in the Ellendale area until 2004, until she moved to Wisconsin and lived with her daughter, Joanne, for seven years. Clara later moved to the Onalaska Nursing Home, which is a short distance from where Joanne lives.

Joanne visits her mother most days and tries to be with her during the evening meal. Clara continues to be in pretty good health, considering her age, however Joanne says that pneumonia has come around a few too many times.

We wish Clara a special day that will be bright with joy, warm with friendship, and one remembered and filled with great love. Clara’s family plans to make the trip to Wisconsin so they can help her celebrate this special day.

Folks can be thankful the Lord decided the world needed someone as special as Clara in it, and it is hoped many local people will bless her with cards and letters which will let her know how much we love and miss her.

Cards letters and special greetings can be sent to Clara, via her daughter, Joanne Neuhart, at 615 Plainview Road, #107, LaCrosse, Wisconsin 54603.
